Ingredients

  • 6 oz riesling wine
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/8 tsp ground star anise
  • 1/4 medium orange, sliced thin
  • 1/2 tbsp honey
  • 1 oz vodka
  • 1/2 tbsp cointreau

Instructions

  1. Combine the ground spices in a tea bag and tie it closed with kitchen twine.
  2. Pour the riesling wine into the crockpot and add the spices and sliced oranges.
  3. Cover and heat on high for 2-3 hours. Taste for spice flavors.
  4. Once the wine is spiced to your liking, you can remove the oranges and tea bag of spices, or leave the spices in for a stronger flavor.
  5. Consider removing the oranges to prevent a bitter flavor. Optionally, juice the oranges back into the wine after removal.
  6. Add the honey, vodka, and cointreau. Enjoy!
