Vietnamese Sunrise Coffee
This delightful Vietnamese iced coffee, also known as Ca Phe Sua, is a strong and concentrated brew that's balanced by the sweetened condensed milk. The medium-roasted, freshly ground coffee is brewed using a traditional phin, resulting in a rich and flavorful drink that's perfect for a refreshing pick-me-up. Vietnamese Sunrise Coffee
A strong and rich Vietnamese-style iced coffee served with sweetened condensed milk over ice.
Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. medium-finely ground coffee
- 1 Tbsp. sweetened condensed milk
- Ice
Instructions
- Boil water to 205°F, if using an electric kettle.
- Place a heat-resistant rocks glass on a digital scale, add sweetened condensed milk, and set a phin over the glass.
- Add the ground coffee to the phin chamber, shake gently, and then press the filter down.
- Add 2 tablespoons of boiling water, let the coffee grinds bloom for 60 seconds, then slowly add 1/4 cup more hot water.
- Cover the phin and allow the coffee to drip into the glass for about 5 minutes.
- Stir well, fill the glass with ice, and serve immediately.
