Vietnamese Sunrise Coffee

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. medium-finely ground coffee
  • 1 Tbsp. sweetened condensed milk
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Boil water to 205°F, if using an electric kettle.
  2. Place a heat-resistant rocks glass on a digital scale, add sweetened condensed milk, and set a phin over the glass.
  3. Add the ground coffee to the phin chamber, shake gently, and then press the filter down.
  4. Add 2 tablespoons of boiling water, let the coffee grinds bloom for 60 seconds, then slowly add 1/4 cup more hot water.
  5. Cover the phin and allow the coffee to drip into the glass for about 5 minutes.
  6. Stir well, fill the glass with ice, and serve immediately.
