Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons medium-finely ground coffee
  • 1 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a kettle, ensuring it reaches 205°F if using an electric, digital kettle.
  2. Place a heat-resistant rocks glass on a digital scale and add the sweetened condensed milk to the glass. Set a phin over the glass and add the ground coffee to the phin chamber, shaking gently to even out the grinds.
  3. Return the phin to the cup and press the filter all the way down until it stops, gently packing the grinds. Zero out the scale and add 2 tablespoons of boiling water. Allow the coffee grinds to bloom for 60 seconds.
  4. Slowly add 1/4 cup more of hot water (total 84 grams). Cover the phin with the lid and allow the coffee to drip into the glass for about 5 minutes.
  5. Stir well, fill the glass with ice, and serve immediately.
