Ingredients

  • 2 oz evaporated milk
  • 1.40 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1.40 oz coconut milk
  • 1.50 oz sweetened cream of coconut
  • 3-inch piece of cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 vanilla bean (split lengthwise)
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2.50 oz rum (white, spiced, coconut, or a combination)
  • Toasted coconut (for garnish (optional))

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine evaporated milk, condensed milk, coconut cream, and coconut milk over low heat, stirring to combine.
  2. Add the cinnamon sticks, vanilla bean, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg. Allow the mixture to simmer gently for 20-30 minutes until it thickens slightly, stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove from heat and let it cool for at least 30 minutes or until it reaches room temperature. Discard the cinnamon sticks and vanilla bean.
  4. Gradually whisk in the vanilla extract and rum. Pour the mixture into a pitcher, cover, and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours until cold.
  5. Serve in small glasses, garnished with a sprinkle of cinnamon, nutmeg, and toasted coconut, or in larger glasses over ice.
