Ingredients
- 1 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
- 1 oz cream of coconut
- 1 oz unsweetened coconut milk
- 1 oz evaporated milk
- pinch of salt
- 1/4 vanilla bean, split and scraped or 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 small cinnamon sticks
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)
- 1 1/2 oz rum
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk, cream of coconut, coconut milk, evaporated milk, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon sticks.
- Heat the mixture over medium-low heat until just starting to simmer, then remove from heat and allow it to steep for 30-45 minutes.
- After steeping, remove the cinnamon stick and vanilla bean (if used), then add the rum slowly, adjusting to your preference.
- Transfer the coquito to a pitcher, refrigerate for at least 2 hours until well chilled, and serve neat or over ice. Enjoy!
