Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 oz cream of coconut
  • 1 oz unsweetened coconut milk
  • 1 oz evaporated milk
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/4 vanilla bean, split and scraped or 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 small cinnamon sticks
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 1/2 oz rum

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk, cream of coconut, coconut milk, evaporated milk, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon sticks.
  2. Heat the mixture over medium-low heat until just starting to simmer, then remove from heat and allow it to steep for 30-45 minutes.
  3. After steeping, remove the cinnamon stick and vanilla bean (if used), then add the rum slowly, adjusting to your preference.
  4. Transfer the coquito to a pitcher, refrigerate for at least 2 hours until well chilled, and serve neat or over ice. Enjoy!
