Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder (I like dark cocoa powder)
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • Pinch of fine sea salt
  • 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 1 oz tequila

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine milk, cocoa powder, sugar, salt, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper. Whisk to combine.
  2. Heat on low until the mixture comes to a gentle boil, stirring.
  3. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
  4. Add tequila and whisk again.
  5. Pour the hot chocolate into a mug.
  6. Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon or garnish with a cinnamon stick.
