Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped frozen strawberries
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 3/4 cup white cranberry juice or white grape juice
  • 1 1/2 oz gin
  • 2 oz club soda
  • Lime slice and frozen berries for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, simmer the chopped frozen strawberries, sugar, and water for about 10 minutes. Allow the mixture to cool.
  2. Strain the mixture to separate the strawberry pieces and syrup, and reserve both.
  3. Puree the strained strawberries until smooth.
  4. In a plastic container, combine the strawberry puree, strawberry syrup, lime juice, white cranberry juice, and gin. Stir well, cover, and freeze for about 6 hours.
  5. Once ice sheets begin to form, break them down into smaller crystals using an immersion blender or vigorous stirring.
  6. Return the container to the freezer and stir every few hours until ready to serve.
  7. To serve, spoon 4 ounces of the slush into an 8 ounce glass and add 2 ounces of club soda. Stir and garnish with a lime slice and frozen berries.
