Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1/3 cup strawberry-basil puree
  • 5 oz ginger ale
  • 1/2 cup chopped strawberries
  • 2 basil leaves, torn
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the chopped strawberries and torn basil leaves, and blend until smooth.
  2. Strain the mixture if desired, then pour the strawberry-basil puree into a container with a tight-fitting lid. This can be prepared up to 2 days in advance.
  3. Fill a 16oz cocktail glass with ice.
  4. Add 2oz vodka and 1/3 cup of the prepared strawberry-basil puree to the glass.
  5. Pour in 5oz of ginger ale and stir to combine.
  6. Garnish with a smacked basil leaf and sliced strawberries.
  7. For a mocktail, omit the vodka and follow the same steps.
