A spiritous rye cocktail with absinthe, Bénédictine, vermouth, and Peychaud's bitters, originating from the historic La Louisiane restaurant in New Orleans.

Ingredients

  • 5 dashes absinthe
  • 5 dashes Peychaud's bitters
  • 1/2 oz Bénédictine
  • 3/4 oz La Quintinye Rouge vermouth
  • 1 3/4 oz Wild Turkey 101 rye whiskey
  • Skewered candied cherry, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a mixing glass, combine absinthe, Peychaud's bitters, Bénédictine, vermouth, and rye whiskey.
  2. Fill the mixing glass with ice.
  3. Stir the mixture rapidly to chill.
  4. Strain the mixture into a chilled Nick & Nora glass.
  5. Garnish with a skewered candied cherry.
