Spirited Southern Sazerac
A spiritous rye cocktail with absinthe, Bénédictine, vermouth, and Peychaud's bitters, originating from the historic La Louisiane restaurant in New Orleans.
Ingredients
- 5 dashes absinthe
- 5 dashes Peychaud's bitters
- 1/2 oz Bénédictine
- 3/4 oz La Quintinye Rouge vermouth
- 1 3/4 oz Wild Turkey 101 rye whiskey
- Skewered candied cherry, for garnish
Instructions
- In a mixing glass, combine absinthe, Peychaud's bitters, Bénédictine, vermouth, and rye whiskey.
- Fill the mixing glass with ice.
- Stir the mixture rapidly to chill.
- Strain the mixture into a chilled Nick & Nora glass.
- Garnish with a skewered candied cherry.
