Spicy Tequila Temple Twist
A bold and flavorful twist on the classic Dirty Shirley with tequila, chile-infused syrup, and Luxardo cherries.
Ingredients
- Ice cubes
- 3/4 oz. lime juice
- 3/4 oz. Chile Grenadine or purchased grenadine syrup
- 1 1/2 oz. silver tequila (optional)
- 4 - 6 oz. ginger beer, chilled
- Luxardo cherry
- 1 cup pomegranate juice
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 pasilla or guajillo chile, seeded and crushed
Instructions
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add lime juice, Chile Grenadine, and tequila (if using).
- Cover the shaker and shake vigorously until the mixture is very cold.
- Strain the mixture into an ice-filled Collins glass.
- Top with 4 oz. of chilled ginger beer, or 6 oz. if omitting tequila.
- Garnish with a Luxardo cherry.
- For the Chile Grenadine, in a small saucepan, combine all the ingredients and bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar.
- Cover and let the mixture steep for 30 minutes.
- Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh strainer and chill before using. Makes 1 3/4 cups.
