Ingredients
- 1 1/2 tsp instant coffee
- 1/2 inch fresh ginger
- 1/2 of a 2.75-inch cinnamon stick
- 5 whole cloves
- 1 1/3 cups boiling water
- 2 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
- Crushed ice
- 2 tbsp Kahlua liqueur (optional)
Instructions
- In a large heatproof jug, combine the instant coffee, fresh ginger, cinnamon stick, and cloves.
- Stir in the boiling water and set aside to cool completely.
- Strain the coffee mixture through a fine sieve into a clean jug, discarding the ginger, cinnamon stick, and cloves.
- Add the sweetened condensed milk to the jug and stir until well combined.
- Fill a serving glass with crushed ice.
- Pour the coffee mixture over the ice and add Kahlua, if desired.
- Stir well to combine and serve immediately.
