Ingredients
- 1 large egg, separated
- 2 tbsp dark rum
- 2 tbsp bourbon or rye whiskey
- 2 tbsp Cognac
- 2 tbsp heavy cream
- 1 1/2 tbsp dark maple syrup
- 1/4 whole nutmeg seed
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, beat the egg white until stiff peaks form and set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the egg yolk, rum, whiskey, Cognac, cream, and maple syrup until fully mixed.
- Grate the nutmeg into the yolk mixture and gently fold in the beaten egg whites in 3 batches, mixing well after each addition until fully combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a sealable container and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
- Before serving, stir the mixture thoroughly to recombine, then ladle into small cups and garnish with additional grated nutmeg.
