Ingredients

  • 1 Sweet apple
  • 1/4 Lemon
  • 3 Tangerines
  • 2 Cinnamon sticks
  • 1/4 TSP Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 TSP Ground cloves
  • 1/8 TSP Ground nutmeg
  • 2 TBSP Dark brown sugar
  • 5 oz Cold press apple juice
  • 1 oz Rum (optional)
  • Ginger ale
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Slice half an apple into rounds and set aside with sliced tangerines and lemon rounds.
  2. In a pot, combine the rest of the apples, lemon juice, tangerine juice and rind, cinnamon sticks, ground cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, brown sugar, and apple juice. Add half of the lemon rind if desired.
  3. Boil the mixture for 20-25 minutes until the apples are tender and the juice has reduced by a third.
  4. Optional: Pop the fruit rounds into the oven at 375°F for 7-10 minutes to add color and dry them slightly. Let cool on a rack.
  5. Remove the mixture from the heat, strain into a jug, and cool completely.
  6. Once cooled, add rum to the jug and mix.
  7. Serve over ice, top with ginger ale, and garnish with the fruit rounds.
