Ingredients

  • 2 oz bourbon
  • 0.25 oz absinthe
  • 0.50 oz brown sugar chai syrup (recipe below)
  • 1 dash Peychauds bitters or cardamom bitters
  • garnish with orange peel
  • Brown Sugar Chai Syrup
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 bags chai tea

Instructions

  1. Chill a rocks glass.
  2. Combine all ingredients except the orange peel into a mixing glass.
  3. Add ice and stir.
  4. Strain into the chilled rocks glass.
  5. For the brown sugar chai syrup:
  6. Boil water and brown sugar until dissolved.
  7. Remove from heat and steep chai tea bags for 10 minutes, then remove.
  8. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks.
