Spice Infused Sazarac
A rich and spirited cocktail with spicy chai, aromatic absinthe, and smooth bourbon, offering a warm, spicy kick with a touch of brightness.
Ingredients
- 2 oz bourbon
- 0.25 oz absinthe
- 0.50 oz brown sugar chai syrup (recipe below)
- 1 dash Peychauds bitters or cardamom bitters
- garnish with orange peel
- Brown Sugar Chai Syrup
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup water
- 2 bags chai tea
Instructions
- Chill a rocks glass.
- Combine all ingredients except the orange peel into a mixing glass.
- Add ice and stir.
- Strain into the chilled rocks glass.
- For the brown sugar chai syrup:
- Boil water and brown sugar until dissolved.
- Remove from heat and steep chai tea bags for 10 minutes, then remove.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks.
