Ingredients
- 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
- 4/5 cup sugar
- 2/5 cup white rum
- 1/5 vanilla bean
Instructions
- Heat the coffee until hot.
- Mix the sugar into the hot coffee and set it aside to cool.
- Prepare a sous vide water bath at 135°F.
- Slice the vanilla bean and place a section in a jar.
- Once the coffee has cooled, add the rum and mix well.
- Divide the coffee, sugar, rum mixture between the jars, leaving 1 inch of headspace in each.
- Loosely seal the jars and place them in the sous vide bath for 3 hours at 135°F.
- Remove the jars and cool to room temperature before straining out the vanilla bean.
