Seasonal Citrus Delight
A refreshing and vibrant milk punch with bourbon, dark rum, fresh citrus juices, and whole milk, infused with citrus zest and port for a beautiful pink hue.
Ingredients
- Zest of 1/2 lemon
- Zest of 1/2 lime
- Zest of 1/2 orange
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon orange bitters
- 1 oz bourbon
- 1 oz dark rum
- 1 oz fresh lemon juice
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- 1 oz fresh orange juice
- 1/2 cup whole milk
Instructions
- In a bowl, muddle the citrus zest, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fragrant.
- Add the port and bitters, then let it sit for 15 minutes.
- Stir in the bourbon, rum, lemon juice, lime juice, orange juice, and 1/4 cup water.
- Bring the milk to a bare simmer in a saucepan, then immediately pour it into the cognac mixture (the milk will curdle right away).
- Cover and chill the mixture for at least 1 hour and up to 24 hours.
- Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve lined with cheesecloth into a bowl, cover, and chill until cold.
- Carefully ladle the clarified punch into a pitcher, leaving any remaining curds behind. Chill until ready to serve.
