Ingredients
- 1/2 cup fresh raspberries
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/4 cup packed fresh basil leaves, coarsely chopped
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 black tea bag
- 6 oz carbonated water or 5 oz sparkling rose wine
- Ice cubes
- Optional: Fresh raspberries and basil leaves for garnish
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the raspberries, sugar, basil, and lime juice. Mash the berries and cook over medium heat until the berries release their juices, about 7 minutes.
- Remove from the heat and add the tea bag. Cover and let it steep for 20 minutes. Strain the mixture, discarding the tea bag and raspberry seeds. Transfer the tea to a pitcher and refrigerate until serving.
- Just before serving, slowly add the carbonated water or wine to the pitcher.
- Serve the cocktail over ice, and optionally, garnish with fresh raspberries and basil leaves.
