Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 Tbsp water
  • 1/2 tsp chopped orange zest
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/8 cup blood orange soda or sparkling citrus soda
  • 1/8 cup gin
  • 1/16 cup sweet vermouth
  • 1/16 cup Campari
  • Blood orange slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, water, orange zest, and salt to make a simple syrup. Stir until the sugar dissolves, approximately 5 minutes.
  2. Mix the blood orange soda, gin, sweet vermouth, Campari, and the prepared simple syrup.
  3. Pour the mixture into a 3-quart baking dish, cover, and freeze until solid, for about 8 hours or overnight.
  4. Scrape the granita with a fork to fluff, then scoop it into serving dishes and garnish with blood orange slices.
