A refreshing Negroni Granita with blood orange soda, gin, and Campari, frozen with orange zest for a zesty twist on the classic cocktail.
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp water
- 1/2 tsp chopped orange zest
- Pinch of salt
- 3/8 cup blood orange soda or sparkling citrus soda
- 1/8 cup gin
- 1/16 cup sweet vermouth
- 1/16 cup Campari
- Blood orange slices for garnish
Instructions
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, water, orange zest, and salt to make a simple syrup. Stir until the sugar dissolves, approximately 5 minutes.
- Mix the blood orange soda, gin, sweet vermouth, Campari, and the prepared simple syrup.
- Pour the mixture into a 3-quart baking dish, cover, and freeze until solid, for about 8 hours or overnight.
- Scrape the granita with a fork to fluff, then scoop it into serving dishes and garnish with blood orange slices.
