Ingredients

  • 2 wedges of lime
  • 1/2 oz lime juice (1 Tbsp)
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 5-8 mint leaves
  • Ice
  • 2 oz white rum (4 Tbsp)
  • Lime-flavored sparkling water or club soda

Instructions

  1. Place mint and sugar in a short, sturdy glass.
  2. Add lime wedges and lime juice to the glass. Muddle to release juice and extract flavor from the lime.
  3. Add mint and gently muddle to release its aroma without crushing or tearing it.
  4. Fill the glass with ice and pour the white rum over the ice.
