Ingredients

  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 Lime
  • 0.75 fluid ounce Simple Syrup
  • 1.50 fluid ounce Rum
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • 8 Fresh Mint Leaves
  • 2 fluid ounces Prosecco Wine
  • to taste Ice

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine granulated sugar and water. Bring to a low boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Once dissolved, remove from heat and set the syrup aside to cool.
  2. Muddle the juice from the lime, fresh mint leaves, and simple syrup by crushing in a cocktail shaker. If a muddler is not available, the handle of a wooden spoon can be used.
  3. Add the rum, a couple of ice cubes, and angostura bitters to the cocktail shaker. Cover with the lid and shake vigorously until chilled.
  4. Strain the mixture into a coupe glass or a short rocks glass.
  5. Top with prosecco wine and garnish with a mint leaf. Serve and enjoy.
