Minty Cuban Breeze
A refreshing and elegant cocktail featuring aged rum, mint, and a splash of sparkling wine, perfect for beating the summer heat.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 cup Water
- 1 Lime
- 0.75 fluid ounce Simple Syrup
- 1.50 fluid ounce Rum
- 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
- 8 Fresh Mint Leaves
- 2 fluid ounces Prosecco Wine
- to taste Ice
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine granulated sugar and water. Bring to a low boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Once dissolved, remove from heat and set the syrup aside to cool.
- Muddle the juice from the lime, fresh mint leaves, and simple syrup by crushing in a cocktail shaker. If a muddler is not available, the handle of a wooden spoon can be used.
- Add the rum, a couple of ice cubes, and angostura bitters to the cocktail shaker. Cover with the lid and shake vigorously until chilled.
- Strain the mixture into a coupe glass or a short rocks glass.
- Top with prosecco wine and garnish with a mint leaf. Serve and enjoy.
