Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz Irish Whiskey
  • 4 oz hot, filtered black coffee
  • 2 tsp light brown sugar
  • 1 oz heavy cream
  • Optional garnish: nutmeg, chocolate shavings, or 2-3 coffee beans

Instructions

  1. Prepare a heatproof cup and warm it with hot water.
  2. Aerate the heavy cream by stirring rapidly with a whisk or fork, or whip it to a whipped cream consistency.
  3. Discard the hot water from the cup and add brown sugar to the cup.
  4. Pour in the hot coffee and stir to dissolve the sugar.
  5. Add the Irish whiskey and stir to combine.
  6. Gently pour the aerated heavy cream over the back of a spoon into the cup or dollop the whipped cream on top.
  7. Optionally garnish with nutmeg, chocolate shavings, or coffee beans.
