Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup + 1 1/2 teaspoons vodka (good quality)
  • 3/4 cup milk (2%)
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • Zest of 1 large lemon
  • 1/4 - 1/3 cup fine sugar

Instructions

  1. Wash the lemons thoroughly and carefully remove the peels, ensuring to leave as little white pith as possible.
  2. Place the vodka and lemon peels in a large jar, then store it in a dark place for 10-15 days, swirling the liquid in the jar once or twice a day.
  3. Remove the lemon peels from the jar and return the liquid to the jar.
  4. In a medium saucepan, combine the lemon peels with the cream and milk, and bring the mixture to a boil. Then, remove it from the heat.
  5. Immediately strain the liquid through a sieve into a clean bowl, discarding the lemon peels. Add the sugar to the liquid and stir until dissolved. Let the mixture cool completely before adding the vodka and mixing thoroughly.
  6. Pour the Limoncello Cream into a clean bottle and refrigerate for 3-5 days before serving. Remember to shake well before serving.
