Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon matcha
  • 3/4 cup cold water
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 2-3 tablespoons earl grey simple syrup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 teaspoons earl grey loose leaf tea (or 4 tea bags)

Instructions

  1. Begin by making the earl grey simple syrup. In a small saucepan, bring water to a boil and steep the earl grey tea for 5 minutes.
  2. Strain the tea leaves or remove the tea bags, then return the saucepan to the stove and bring to a slow boil. Stir in the sugar until dissolved.
  3. Once the sugar is dissolved, remove the syrup from the heat and let it cool completely before using it for the iced bergamot matcha cooler.
  4. To prepare the drink, sift the matcha powder into a vessel with a resealable lid and add the cold water to make cold brew matcha. Seal and shake vigorously for 15 seconds or until froth forms on the top layer and there are no matcha clumps.
  5. Fill a glass halfway with ice and pour the cold brew matcha, milk, and earl grey simple syrup over the ice.
  6. Stir the ingredients together and savor every sip of this delightful beverage.
