Ingredients
- 1 large egg, separated
- 1/10 cup dark rum (overproof, if desired)
- 1/10 cup Bourbon or rye whiskey
- 1/10 cup VS or VSOP Cognac
- 1/10 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon dark maple syrup
- 1/4 of a whole nutmeg seed
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk the egg whites until stiff peaks form and set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, rum, whiskey, cognac, cream, and maple syrup until fully combined.
- Grate all the nutmeg into the yolk mixture.
- Gently fold in the beaten egg whites in 3 batches, mixing well after each addition, until the mixture is smooth and consistent.
- Transfer the mixture to a sealable container and refrigerate for at least 3 hours to chill. Stir thoroughly before serving.
- Ladle the cocktail into small cups and garnish with additional grated nutmeg.
