- 4.20 oz Red wine (good quality)
- 0.80 oz Ruby Port
- 0.60 oz Soft Brown Sugar
- 1-2 Star Anise
- 1/4 tsp Cloves
- 1-2 Bay Leaves
- 1 Cinnamon Stick (broken in half)
- 1 Fresh ginger (thumb-sized piece)
- 1 Orange (cut into segments)
Instructions
- In a large pan over low heat, combine the red wine and ruby port.
- Add the brown sugar and allow it to fully dissolve in the pan.
- Add the star anise, cloves, bay leaves, and cinnamon to the pan.
- Place the piece of fresh ginger into the pan and let the wine warm through for 5 minutes, ensuring it does not boil.
