  • 0.80 oz Ruby Port
  • 0.60 oz Soft Brown Sugar
  • 1-2 Star Anise
  • 1/4 tsp Cloves
  • 1-2 Bay Leaves
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick (broken in half)
  • 1 Fresh ginger (thumb-sized piece)
  • 1 Orange (cut into segments)

Instructions

  1. In a large pan over low heat, combine the red wine and ruby port.
  2. Add the brown sugar and allow it to fully dissolve in the pan.
  3. Add the star anise, cloves, bay leaves, and cinnamon to the pan.
  4. Place the piece of fresh ginger into the pan and let the wine warm through for 5 minutes, ensuring it does not boil.
  5. Transfer the warm mulled wine into heat-proof glasses and serve. Alternatively, allow the wine to sit for two hours to let the flavors of the spices infuse, then reheat before serving.
