  • 4.20 oz Red wine (good quality)
  • 0.80 oz Ruby Port
  • 0.80 oz Soft Brown Sugar
  • 1-2 Star Anise
  • 1/4 tsp Cloves
  • 1-2 Bay Leaves
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick (broken in half)
  • 1/2 inch Fresh ginger
  • 1 Orange segment

Instructions

  1. In a large pan over low heat, combine red wine and ruby port.
  2. Add brown sugar and allow it to dissolve completely.
  3. Add star anise, cloves, bay leaves, and cinnamon to the pan.
  4. Add the piece of fresh ginger and warm the wine mixture for 5 minutes without boiling.
  5. Strain the warm mulled wine into a heat-proof glass, add an orange segment, and serve.
