Ingredients
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup water
- 4-inch piece ginger, peeled and chopped
- 1 tablespoon allspice berries
- 1 teaspoon whole cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/2 teaspoon whole black peppercorns
- 2 oz vodka
- 1 oz coffee liqueur (e.g. Kahlua)
- 1 oz heavy cream
- 1/2 - 1 oz gingerbread syrup
Instructions
- In a small pot, combine brown sugar, water, chopped ginger, allspice berries, cloves, cinnamon stick, and black peppercorns.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Turn off the heat and let the syrup cool for at least 20 minutes.
- Strain the syrup and store it in an airtight container. This will yield enough syrup for 6-8 drinks.
- In a shaker, combine vodka, coffee liqueur, heavy cream, and gingerbread syrup to your desired sweetness.
- Add ice to the shaker and shake for 30 seconds until the drink is well mixed and frothy.
- Strain the cocktail into a glass and garnish as desired. Enjoy!
