Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 4-inch piece ginger, peeled and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon allspice berries
  • 1 teaspoon whole cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 teaspoon whole black peppercorns
  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz coffee liqueur (e.g. Kahlua)
  • 1 oz heavy cream
  • 1/2 - 1 oz gingerbread syrup

Instructions

  1. In a small pot, combine brown sugar, water, chopped ginger, allspice berries, cloves, cinnamon stick, and black peppercorns.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Turn off the heat and let the syrup cool for at least 20 minutes.
  4. Strain the syrup and store it in an airtight container. This will yield enough syrup for 6-8 drinks.
  5. In a shaker, combine vodka, coffee liqueur, heavy cream, and gingerbread syrup to your desired sweetness.
  6. Add ice to the shaker and shake for 30 seconds until the drink is well mixed and frothy.
  7. Strain the cocktail into a glass and garnish as desired. Enjoy!
