Ingredients
- 1.50 oz good quality tequila
- 1.50 ruby red grapefruits
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1/2 tablespoon agave nectar
- Splash of sparkling water
- Coarse salt and rosemary for rim garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven broiler.
- Slice one of the grapefruits in half and the other half into wedges. Place them on a baking sheet.
- Combine brown sugar and white sugar, then sprinkle the mixture over the grapefruit halves and slices.
- Broil for 8-10 minutes until the grapefruit is caramelized.
- Squeeze the broiled grapefruit halves into a cocktail shaker, enough to yield one cup of juice.
- Add lime juice, agave nectar, and tequila to the shaker, then shake with ice.
- Mix coarse salt and dried rosemary on a plate, wet the glass rim and dip it in the salt mixture.
- Pour the margarita over ice and garnish with the broiled grapefruit wedges. Add a splash of sparkling water if desired.
