Festive Cranberry Mint Rum Punch
A delightful and festive rum punch with a refreshing blend of fresh cranberries and mint.
Ingredients
- 5 oz fresh cranberries
- 5 oz water
- 1 tbsp + 2 tsp granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
- 2 tbsp lime juice (freshly squeezed from 1-2 limes)
- 3 oz rum (such as Flor de Cana)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine the cranberries, water, and 1 tbsp of sugar. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes until the sugar dissolves.
- In a measuring cup, muddle the fresh mint leaves with 2 tsp of sugar until the leaves are bruised and the sugar dissolves.
- Strain the cranberry syrup into a pitcher, reserving 5-6 cranberries for garnishing.
- Add the lime juice, rum, and muddled mint to the pitcher, and stir until well mixed.
- Strain the mixture through a medium mesh strainer, pressing gently to extract all the juices from the mint leaves.
- Pour the cocktail into a tall glass filled with ice cubes and garnish with fresh mint leaves and the reserved cranberries.
