Ingredients
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 2/3 cup whole milk
- 1/2 oz bourbon, optional
- 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup Reddi-wip Original Dairy Whipped Topping
- Additional Reddi-wip for serving
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, whisk together the egg yolk, sugar, and salt.
- Slowly whisk in the milk and cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and coats the back of a spoon (approximately 160°F), which will take about 30 minutes.
- Strain the mixture into a large bowl and stir in the bourbon (if using), vanilla extract, and ground nutmeg.
- Cover and refrigerate until chilled, about 3 hours.
- Just before serving, whisk the Reddi-wip into the chilled eggnog.
- Top the holiday drink with additional Reddi-wip and enjoy.
