Ingredients

  • 1 egg, separated
  • 1 tablespoon sugar, divided
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons Southern Comfort
  • 1 teaspoon spiced rum
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. In a clean bowl, whip the egg white until foamy, then gradually add 1/4 tablespoon sugar while continuing to whip until stiff peaks form.
  2. In another bowl, beat the egg yolk until it starts to lighten, then gradually beat in the remaining sugar until the mixture thickens and lightens in color.
  3. Beat in the vanilla extract, nutmeg, cinnamon, milk, Southern Comfort, and spiced rum.
  4. Gently fold the whipped egg whites into this mixture using a whisk.
  5. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form, then fold it into the egg mixture.
  6. Chill the eggnog and whisk well before serving. Sprinkle nutmeg on top and place a spoon upright in the middle before serving.
