Ingredients

  • 1 egg, separated
  • 2 tbsp sugar, divided
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 oz whole milk
  • 1/2 oz Southern Comfort
  • 1/4 oz spiced rum
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. In a clean mixing bowl, whip the egg whites until foamy, then gradually add in 1 tablespoon of sugar and continue whipping until stiff, glossy peaks form. Set aside.
  2. In another mixing bowl, beat the egg yolks until they start to lighten. Gradually beat in the remaining sugar until the yolks thicken and lighten in color. Mix in the vanilla extract, nutmeg, cinnamon, milk, Southern Comfort, and spiced rum.
  3. Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the egg yolk mixture.
  4. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Then, gently fold the whipped cream into the egg mixture.
  5. Chill the eggnog and whisk well before serving. Serve with a sprinkle of nutmeg on top and a standing spoon in the middle.
