Ingredients
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp fresh orange juice
- 2 tbsp minced or grated fresh ginger root
- 2 tbsp fresh cranberries
- 4 tbsp unsweetened cranberry juice
- Ice
- 2 oz mead
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, bring honey to a boil and cook until it turns dark amber.
- Gradually add orange juice, then stir in ginger and let it steep.
- Transfer the mixture to a blender, blend, and strain through a fine-mesh strainer.
- Char the cranberries in a skillet, then transfer them to a pitcher.
- Add the honey-ginger syrup and cranberry juice to the pitcher and cool completely.
- Fill a highball glass with ice, add the drink base and top with mead. Stir gently and serve.
