Ingredients
- 6 oz whole cranberries (fresh or frozen)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 tbsp lime juice
- 3 oz orange juice
- 2 tbsp cranberry syrup
- 1 1/2 oz tequila
- 1/2 oz lime juice
- 1/2 oz orange liqueur
- Ice
- Granulated or sanding sugar for rimming the glass
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine cranberries, granulated sugar, lime juice, and orange juice.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes until the cranberries burst. Allow it to cool for 5 minutes.
- Puree the syrup in a blender and strain it through a fine mesh strainer into a container. Refrigerate until cool.
- Wet the rim of a cocktail glass with water or lime juice and dip it into granulated or sanding sugar to coat the rim.
- Fill the glass halfway with ice.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine cranberry syrup, tequila, lime juice, and orange liqueur. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously.
- Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass.
