Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Unsalted Butter
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 1 Clove
  • 1 Allspice Berry
  • 1/8 Vanilla Bean (, slit open vertically)
  • 1/8 tsp Kosher Salt
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 oz Dark Rum (or 1/4 tsp Rum Extract)
  • Whipping Cream
  • Freshly Grated Nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Combine brown sugar, butter, cinnamon stick, clove, allspice berry, vanilla bean, salt, and water in a slow cooker.
  2. Cook on LOW for 5 1/2 hours.
  3. Strain the mixture through a fine sieve and return the liquid to the slow cooker to keep warm.
  4. Pour rum (or rum extract) into a serving mug.
  5. Top with whipping cream and freshly grated nutmeg.
