- 1 cup Whole milk
- 3 large Eggs (separated)
- 1/2 cup Sugar (granulated)
- 1/2 cup Heavy cream
- 1/4 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- Whipped cream and extra nutmeg (For Optional Garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar until the mixture becomes pale yellow in color.
- Heat the milk, cream, and nutmeg in a saucepan, ensuring it does not reach boiling point.
- Combine the hot milk mixture with the egg yolks, stirring thoroughly.
- Warm the mixture gently until it thickens, but do not let it boil.
