Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp chili powder
  • 1 lime wedge
  • 1/2 cup frozen corn kernels, thawed (2.5 oz)
  • 1/2 oz cane syrup
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes (4 oz)
  • 1 1/2 oz tequila
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 1 cup crushed ice, approx.
  • 1 cilantro sprig
  • 1 slice jalapeño chili pepper, seeded (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine the salt and chili powder on a small plate. Rub the rim of an Old Fashioned glass with the lime wedge, then coat the rim with the salt mixture. Set aside.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, muddle the thawed corn kernels and cane syrup into a purée.
  3. Add the ice cubes, tequila, and lime juice to the shaker. Mix vigorously.
  4. Strain the mixture into the prepared glass over the crushed ice.
  5. Garnish with the lime wedge, cilantro, and optional jalapeño slice.
