Coffee Shrub Sparkler
A refreshing and unique beverage that combines balsamic vinegar, espresso, and sweet syrups, topped with sparkling water.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz balsamic vinegar
- 1 1/2 oz coarsely ground espresso coffee
- 1 1/2 tbsp agave syrup
- 1 1/2 tbsp maple syrup
- 4 oz chilled sparkling water
- Ice
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, mix the balsamic vinegar and coarsely ground espresso coffee with 1/4 cup of water.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it sit at room temperature for at least 6 hours or overnight.
- Pour the liquid through a fine sieve lined with cheesecloth into another bowl.
- Stir in the agave and maple syrups.
- Store the coffee shrub in an airtight glass container in the refrigerator for up to 4 weeks.
- To serve, fill a chilled 12-oz. glass with ice.
- Add 1 1/2 tablespoons of coffee shrub to the glass.
- Top with 4 ounces of sparkling water and stir to combine.
