The combination of balsamic vinegar and espresso shrub creates a unique, sparkling beverage with a delightful blend of tangy and aromatic flavors. The Coffee Buzz Spritz is a refreshing and sophisticated drink that offers a perfect balance between the bitter notes of coffee and the sweetness from agave and maple syrups.
Coffee Buzz Spritz
A refreshing and sophisticated sparkling balsamic vinegar-espresso shrub spritzer with a delightful blend of tangy and aromatic flavors.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups balsamic vinegar
- 1 1/2 cups coarsely ground espresso coffee
- 3 tbsp. agave syrup
- 3 tbsp. maple syrup
- Chilled sparkling water
- Ice
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the balsamic vinegar with the coarsely ground espresso coffee and 1/2 cup of water.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it sit at room temperature for at least 6 hours or overnight.
- Pour the liquid through a fine sieve lined with cheesecloth into another bowl.
- Stir in the agave and maple syrups.
- Store the coffee shrub in an airtight glass container in the refrigerator for up to 4 weeks.
- To serve, in a chilled 12-oz. glass filled with ice, add 3 tablespoons of the coffee shrub.
- Top with 4 ounces of sparkling water and stir to combine.
