Chocolate Rum Flip
A modern take on the classic 17th-century chocolate porter flip, this cocktail can be enjoyed hot or cold for a delightful flavor experience.
Ingredients
- 1.70 oz Meantime chocolate porter
- 1.20 oz dark rum
- 0.50 oz sugar syrup
- 1 egg
- Grated nutmeg, to serve
Instructions
- If serving cold, combine all ingredients (except nutmeg) in a shaker and shake vigorously without ice to mix and aerate the egg.
- Open the shaker, add ice, and shake vigorously again for 10-15 seconds.
- Strain the mixture into a glass with a few ice cubes, if desired.
- Grate nutmeg over the top for a finishing touch.
- If serving hot, combine all ingredients (except nutmeg) in a pan and gently heat, whisking until warmed through. Be cautious not to let it get too hot to prevent the egg from scrambling.
- Pour the warm mixture into a glass and grate nutmeg over the top.
