Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz dark chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons hot chocolate mix
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, plus more for garnish
  • a pinch of cayenne pepper, plus more for garnish
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups ice
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream, cold
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Finely chop the dark chocolate and melt it in a microwave or double boiler.
  2. Stir in the sugar, hot chocolate mix, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper until fully combined.
  3. Add 1/2 cup of milk and stir until the chocolate mixture is fully incorporated.
  4. Pour the chocolate mixture into a blender, add the remaining milk and ice, and blend until well combined.
  5. For a thicker consistency, blend in the additional ice.
  6. Divide the mixture into a glass and top with whipped cream.
  7. Sprinkle with cinnamon and cayenne pepper for garnish.
