Ingredients

  • 1.50 oz dark chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons hot chocolate mix
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, plus more for garnish
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper, plus more for garnish
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 to 1.50 cups ice
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream, cold
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Finely chop dark chocolate into uniform pieces.
  2. Melt the chocolate in a microwave or double boiler.
  3. Stir in sugar, hot chocolate mix, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, and 1/2 cup of milk until fully incorporated.
  4. Pour the chocolate mixture into a blender, add the remaining milk and 1 to 1.5 cups of ice, then blend until well combined.
  5. For a thicker consistency, add more ice and blend again.
  6. Pour the mixture into a glass and top with whipped cream.
  7. Sprinkle with cinnamon and cayenne pepper for garnish.
