Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons turbinado sugar
  • 2 cardamom pods, lightly crushed
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons Cognac or other brandy
  • 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon freshly brewed coffee

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, bring water, sugar, and crushed cardamom pods to a simmer, stirring to dissolve the sugar; then remove from heat.
  2. Whip the cream to soft peaks.
  3. Add brandy and hot coffee to the saucepan with the syrup mixture, and stir to combine.
