Ingredients
- 3.50 oz Caramilk chocolate
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 4 egg yolks
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp spiced rum
- Ground nutmeg, for garnish
Instructions
- Use a vegetable peeler to shave 1 tbsp of the Caramilk chocolate and finely chop the rest.
- In a saucepan over low heat, melt the chopped chocolate with the cream and milk, stirring until smooth.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, vanilla, and sugar until pale and thickened.
- Gradually whisk in the hot cream mixture, then return the mixture to the saucepan over medium-low heat.
- Stir constantly for 8-10 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly and coats the back of a spoon. Do not let it boil.
- Stir in the rum, then divide the mixture between two heatproof serving glasses.
- Top with whipped cream, sprinkle with chocolate shavings and nutmeg, and serve.
