Ingredients

  • 3.50 oz Caramilk chocolate
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp spiced rum
  • Ground nutmeg, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Use a vegetable peeler to shave 1 tbsp of the Caramilk chocolate and finely chop the rest.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the chopped chocolate with the cream and milk, stirring until smooth.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, vanilla, and sugar until pale and thickened.
  4. Gradually whisk in the hot cream mixture, then return the mixture to the saucepan over medium-low heat.
  5. Stir constantly for 8-10 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly and coats the back of a spoon. Do not let it boil.
  6. Stir in the rum, then divide the mixture between two heatproof serving glasses.
  7. Top with whipped cream, sprinkle with chocolate shavings and nutmeg, and serve.
