Ingredients
- 2 tbsp salted butter (softened)
- 1 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp light brown sugar (packed)
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp rum extract (or rum emulsion)
- 1/4 cup vanilla ice cream (softened)
- 1 cup boiling water
- cinnamon stick for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, use a hand mixer to blend the softened butter, powdered sugar, light brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until fluffy.
- Add the rum extract and vanilla ice cream to the mixture, and blend until combined with only a few clumps.
- Transfer the buttered rum mixture to a sealable container and freeze until firm, about 2-4 hours.
- When ready to serve, boil 1 cup of water. Scoop approximately 1/2 cup of the buttered rum mixture into a glass.
- Pour the boiling water over the mixture and stir well.
- Garnish the drink with a cinnamon stick for added flavor and as a stirring implement (optional).
