Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 ounces dark rum, divided
- 1/2 ounce orange liqueur
- 1/4 cup butternut squash puree
- 1/2 ounce simple syrup
- Juice of 2 lemon wedges
- 5 dashes Angostura bitters
- Garnish: cinnamon and sugar rim
Instructions
- Combine the sugar and ground cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
- In a separate shallow bowl, pour 1/2 ounce of rum.
- Dip the rim of a double-rocks glass into the rum and then into the cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat, then set aside.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine the butternut squash puree, remaining 1 1/2 ounces of rum, orange liqueur, simple syrup, lemon juice, and Angostura bitters. Stir to combine.
- Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously until well-chilled.
- Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass.
