Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 ounces dark rum, divided
- 1/2 ounce orange liqueur
- 1/4 cup butternut squash puree
- 1/2 ounce simple syrup
- 2 freshly squeezed lemon wedges
- 5 dashes Angostura bitters
- Garnish: cinnamon and sugar rim
Instructions
- In a shallow bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon. In another shallow bowl, add 1/2 ounce of rum.
- Dip the rim of a double-rocks glass into the rum, then into the cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat, and set aside.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine the butternut squash puree, remaining 1 1/2 ounces of rum, orange liqueur, simple syrup, bitters, and the juice of 2 lemon wedges, and quickly stir to combine.
- Fill the shaker with ice, then shake until well-chilled.
- Strain the mixture into the prepared glass.
