Ingredients
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 oz freshly squeezed blood orange juice
- 1/2 oz honey syrup
- 1 1/2 oz whiskey
- 1 egg white
- A few dashes of orange bitters
- Garnish: blood orange slice
Instructions
- To make honey syrup, combine water and honey in a small saucepan over medium low heat. Simmer and stir occasionally for five minutes to thin out the honey.
- In a small bowl, whisk the egg white until it becomes foamy, approximately 10 seconds.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine blood orange juice, honey syrup, whiskey, and a few dashes of orange bitters.
- Add half of the whisked egg white to the shaker and shake vigorously for 10 seconds.
- Fill the cocktail shaker with ice and shake further.
- Strain the cocktail, including the foam, into a chilled cocktail glass.
- Garnish with a blood orange slice.
