Ingredients
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 oz cinnamon simple syrup
- 2 oz apple cider
- 1.50 oz vodka
- 0.50 oz orange liqueur (such as Cointreau)
- 0.75 oz fresh lime or lemon juice (approximately 1/2 lime or 1/4 lemon)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water over medium heat.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer and add the cinnamon stick.
- Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is fully dissolved.
- Remove the pan from the heat and let the syrup cool with the cinnamon stick steeping in it.
- Transfer the cooled cinnamon syrup into a mason jar or airtight container and store it in the refrigerator for later use if not making the cocktail immediately.
- In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine the cooled cinnamon syrup, apple cider, vodka, orange liqueur, and lime or lemon juice.
- Cover the shaker and shake the mixture vigorously for 30 seconds until well combined and thoroughly chilled.
- Strain the mixture into a martini glass and serve. Optionally, garnish with apple slices or cinnamon sticks.
